Australian Market is Touching Six-Week Lows
- The Australian markets are touching six-weeks low level as investors are booking profits in banking and mining shares. Today, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index opened down by 0.6 points, or 0.01 per cent, at 5,319.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down one point, or 0.02 per cent, at 5,313.3.
- Australian dollar touched the day's high as there was a positive news from China in form of HSBC/PMI data. After this news, the local currency (AUD) jumped as high as 91.63 US cents from under 91.20 US cents before the news. Presently, AUD is trading at 91.44 US cents.
