Australian Markets Closed with Big Fall



  • The Australian markets closed with big fall as investors booked profits during after noon trading session. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 fell 40.5 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 5279.5. The broader All Ordinaries also lost 40.8 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 5273.5.

  • Consumer discretionary: -1.1%
  • Financials: -1%
  • Industrials: -0.9%
  • Materials: -0.8%
  • IT: -1.4%
  • Utilities: -0.8%
  • Australian dollar started the week positively on the back of positive data from China and it jumped till 91.63 US cents after this news and presently, it is trading at 91.58 US cents as compared to previous close of 91.02 US cents on Friday.
